About Prostate Swelling:
Chinese medicine distinguishes 2 types of prostate swelling, one excess and the other deficiency.
In the excess type, or acute prostatitis, there is burning urination that may include pus and blood. The urine is often dark and odorous. One chooses a product that can treat infection, using herbs that clear heat and resolve toxin.
In the deficiency type, swollen prostate causes a bearing down or distending sensation in the inguinal area, without burning on urination. There is often frequency of urination, with difficulty stopping the urine stream causing dribbling. This type is due to an underlying deficiency of spleen qi deficiency with damp or deficiency of kidney yang.
It is important to note that elevated PSA may be due to prostatic cancer, a life threatening event especially in men under the age of 65. This product is not designed for the treatment of prostatic cancer. Cancer cases should be evaluated, treated and monitored by oncology specialists.
